President: Daniela Ibarra
Daniela Ibarra is a senior software engineer at General Dynamics in Scottsdale, AZ. Previously, she was an embedded software engineer at Raytheon Technologies in Tucson, AZ. She has a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Arizona. Throughout her career, she has been responsible for the full lifecycle for tactical flight software from determining requirements to software design, development and testing in the missile range. At SWE Phoenix Professional Chapter, Daniela held the positions of Social Media Chair and Vice President and she is excited to take on the role of President!
Vice President: Stephanie Busch
Stephanie Busch has spent 13+ years working in various roles at Intel. She is currently a Lithography Supply Chain Engineer and also held roles as a Construction Project Manager, Process Engineer, Engineering Manager, Technical Program Manager, and Scrum Master. Stephanie is also the Conference Co-Chair of the Arizona Women at Intel Network. Her most important job is being a mom to two daughters, aged 5 and 3, who will hopefully become engineers someday. Stephanie graduated from the University of Southern California with a BS and MS in Civil Engineering. She has served as SWE Phoenix book club chair and hosted parents meetup and career development events over the last several years. Stephanie is thrilled to be your FY24 Vice President and is looking forward to a great year!
Treasurer: Barbara Haney
Barbara Haney was an engineer and manager in the semiconductor industry, in roles at Intel, Medtronic, and IBM. She has held multiple offices in the SWE Phoenix section, including president, vice-president, treasurer, and professional development program lead. At the society level, her roles have included the Corporate Partnership Council, Program Development Grant Committee, and Award Committee judge. In her current role at Arizona State University’s Fulton School of Engineering Career Center, she coaches students and alumni in the transition from college to career. Barbara Haney is a BS Industrial Engineering graduate of Purdue University, where she joined SWE for the first time, eventually becoming a life member. This year’s goal: more events to provide networking, social activities, and professional development for section members.
Secretary: Maira Garcia
Maira Garcia graduated from the University of Arizona (Go Wildcats!) in 2014 with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. After graduating she began working at Honeywell and has worked on flight controls, flight management systems, and currently works on engine controls. Outside of her engineering role, Maira is the Program Manager for the SHPE recruiting team at Honeywell and has also participated in regional and national SWE conferences to recruit on behalf of Honeywell. At SWE Phoenix, Maira held the position of Collegiate Counselor for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Prescott) for several years and in 2019 was recognized at the national level by SWE with the Outstanding SWE Counselor Award. Maira also supported Stephanie with the SWE Phoenix book club since last year and is excited to get more involved in a more official capacity as your secretary!
